Badon Tennis Academy’s 10 & Under Team Competes at the USTA Sectionals

The Badon Tennis Academy’s 10 & Under Team, the Dropshots, started the new year off with a bang: an invitation to compete at the USTA Sectionals at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Springs. Kind of a big deal! During the final week of 2019, our fearless players practiced everyday at the Loma Alta Park tennis courts. Head Coach Veronica Badon and volunteer coaches Stefan Studer and Joe Abrams led the kids through drills, practice and strategy sessions.

Results were mixed. The girls doubles teams lost a few matches but still managed to get in some really good serves, returns and drop shots. The boys singles players delivered several definitive wins.

The best part of the weekend in Palm Springs? Becoming better players and competitors, deepening sportsmanship and becoming even better friends. Indian Wells, the Badon Dropshots will be back!

Your Voice Counts.

At Badon Tennis, we love the Altadena community and want to serve you better. Please take a look at the two ongoing petitions below and consider signing. Thank you so much!

Dear Los Angeles County Parks and Recreations,

The Altadena community would like to express our full support for Badon Tennis Academy’s to receive a multi-year contract for the tennis courts at Loma Alta Park. As a member of this community, we believe that granting Badon Tennis Academy a multi-year contract is crucial to increasing access to quality tennis services throughout the county.

We need your full support. Click if you want to sign the petition, or scan the QR code.

Build More Tennis Courts at Loma Alta Park,

We, the members of the community, are writing to express our support for building additional tennis courts at Loma Alta Park. Tennis is a beloved sport in our community, and we believe that additional  courts will provide more opportunities for both children and adults to stay active and healthy.

Many of us have struggled to find available tennis courts and services in the area, making access to the sport difficult for those w

ho do not have private facilities. Furthermore, adding new tennis courts will provide more opportunities for local coaches and trainers to offer their services. This will allow residents in the area to participate in group and private lessons, league teams, tournaments and it will promote social engagement and community building.

We need your full support. Click if you want to sign the petition, or scan the QR code.
